School Lunch Information
Cottonwood Creek Charter School students have access to school lunches which consist of a main dish, side dish, fruit/veggie bar and milk for $3.00. Students who qualify can receive free meals (no charge) or reduced price meals ($.40). You must fill out a free and reduced meal application every year in order to quality for free or reduced priced meals. Please fill out the application and return it to the school as soon as possible. Students will be charged full price for meals until a current application has been approved. You are responsible for all charges incurred before the approval of the application. We only need one application per household with all children listed on it.
Monthly menus will come home with students, be posted on the school bulletin board in the main hallway and on the school website. The Food Service Department at Cottonwood Union School District will prepare meals and transport them to Cottonwood Creek. The children use an electronic ID system for school meals. The system eliminates the need for lunch cards. Students will use their current ID number (library number). This ID number stays with the student through 8th grade. At lunch they simply pick up their meal, punch in their ID number on the keypad and the price of the meal is deducted from their account. If your child has a special food medical concern, once you have notified us and turned in a medical note signed by the doctor, this information will be placed in the system to alert the staff to help monitor their meals.
There are two options to pay for your child's school lunch:
- Go to myschoolbucks.com and create an account; you will need the students' ID number. Once an account is made, you can check the balance and make payments with your debit/credit cards and checks (there is a $2.49 fee to make payments online). You can also setup low balance alerts.
- There is a box in the office where you can deposit cash or checks. The money must be placed in the provided envelope with the first and last name of each student and the amount included written on the outside of the envelope. You can submit money for siblings on one envelope but need to list each separately with the amount that goes toward each individual.
Money in the student's account at the end of the school year will be carried over to the next school year (or you can request a refund). If you have any questions, please contact Debby Andrew, Director of Child Nutrition, at 378-7000, ext. 7104.
