Study Hall: A time for students to complete homework or schoolwork on their own and get help from the teacher when needed. Two study halls are offered per day: one for 3th - 5th grades and one for 6th - 8th grades. Study Hall is considered an elective class, therefore students must be enrolled in the class and not just drop in on an as needed basis.
Mystery Science: For grades 1st and 2nd. Each week students will explore science through experiments or projects geared for this age group. Class is limited to students who have not taken this elective class in the past.

Arts
Primary Arts & Crafts: For grades 1-2. Students will make arts and crafts projects geared for this age group.
Primary Art: For grades 1-3. Students will become familiar with the principles and elements of design while completing a variety of projects and experimenting with different media and processes. In addition to creating masterpieces, students will be introduced to art history and aesthetics.
Intro to Sewing and Crafts: Introduction to simple sewing projects and simple but fun crafts. We will be making festive garland, simple decorations, and have monthly themed projects.
Beginning Sewing: For grades 4-8. Students will gain basic sewing skills, using sewing machines and hand stitching, to complete their project.
Advanced Sewing: Students will expand their sewing skills in the completing of a sewing project. Requirement: Must have completed one year of Beginning Sewing or have instructor approval.
Embroidery: Come learn the old art form of embroidery. The art of decorating material, primarily textile fabric, by means of a needle and thread.
Ceramics: Grades 5-8. Students will work with clay, creating art pieces that will be kiln dried. Students will explore the use of paints and glazes used to complete the projects.
Floral Design: Grades 4-8. Students will get to learn principles of design through floral arranging with varioations of live and preserved flowers. They will learn proper floral preparation and care, and modern floral trade techniques.
Ceramics: Students will work with clay, creating art pieces that will be kiln dried. Students will explore the use of paints and glazes used to complete the projects.
Cooking: For grades 4-6. Students will learn basic cooling using skillets, griddles and a hand mixer. We will make meals, snacks and desserts. Student will learn about cooking prep, clean up and sanitation. They will know table setting and have a cook book of recipes at the end of the semester.

Schoolyard Games: Grades 1-4. Time to get moving and have fun with many fun variations on tag and other classic schooolyard games. Students should wear appropriate clothing and footwear to school for this elective.
Basketball: Grades 4-8. Fun and age appropriate learning of the basics of dribbling, shooting, and the rules of the game. Students should wear appropriate clothing and footwear to school for this elective.
Flag Football: Learn the rules of the game and gain skills playing the game of flag football. Students should wear appropriate clothing and footwear for this elective.
Archery: Grades 5-6 or 7-8. Target archery for all levels. Recurve bows will be provided. Students may bring their own bows if they desire (these MUST be placed in Mr. Boyle's office upon arrival at school in the morning.) There will be an archery contest at the end of the semester.
Volleyball: Grades 4-8. Learn the basics of competition volleyball including serving, setting, passing and the rules of the game. Students must wear appropriate clothing and footwear for this elective.
Soccer: Grades 4-8. Develop skills and learn the rules for the game of soccer. Students must wear appropriate clothing & footwear.
Outdoor Games: A variety of field games, including flag football and Frisbee. Students must wear appropriate clothing & footwear.
SportsMania: Grades 4-8. Instruction and friendly team competition in a variety of sports including football, ultimate Frisbee, and badminton. Focus on overall fitness and working together as a team.
Running Club & Cross Country: Grades 1-8. Running and fun exercises. Information on countywide running mets will be provided when available. Meets are optional for ele tive students enrolled in these classes.
Track: Learn all the skills to run, jump and throw to be competitive on the track field. Information on Track meets will be provided when available. Meets are optional for elective students enrolled in these classes.
Net Games/Pickleball: Grades 2-4, 4-6, or 5-8. /Games, Games and more games. From inside net games to outside on the pickleball court. So many games to play!!
Primary Gym Games: Grades 1-3. Students will experience Field House fun as they participate in a number of indoor gymnasium games.

Drama: Grades 4-8. Focus on the basics of acting, stage terminology, and performing as an ensemble. Individual and group exercises are utilized to help each student grow as an actor and a team member.
Dance: Grades 1-3 or 3-6. Introduction to dance in a fun and energetic setting.

Beg/Int. Graphics and Animation: Grades 3-8. Beginner Graphics Design Class & Animation teaches students how to create visual ideas using art and technology (visual storytelling). Students learn the basics of design, such as color, composition and the elements of art. Students learn how to use photo manipulation software GIMP (an open source version of Adobe Photoshop) for image editing and graphic design. Basic animation concepts are introduced so students find out if they would like to continue on with Intermediate Graphic Design & Animation. Projects include: Photo Enhancement, Poster Creation, Filer Creation, Logo Design, Beginning Character Design and Beginning 3D Modeling.
Acting and Animation: Grades 5-8. Acting classes are structured learning environments where students explore acting techniques, character development, and performance skills towards creating animated performances for student films. Students create stories and characters through a performance team based collaboration called previsualization using
motion and facial capture technology. Students learn to add their performances to their Animations creating scenes in a student film. Animators learn to create animation layers in Blender an open source professional software. Requirements: Must have completed 2 semesters of Technology classes and have instructor approval.
